The conference will take place on the campus of K.U.Leuven in the center of Leuven. K.U.Leuven has been founded in 1425 and is the oldest university in the Low Countries.

The historic center of Leuven is one of the most beautiful in Belgium. The numerous churches, abbeys, university colleges, and the 13th century beguinage are the evidence of a rich history. The finely sculpted Town Hall and Saint Peter’s church are examples of flamboyant Gothic architecture at its best.

Leuven is a city in full metamorphosis. Streets, squares, buildings as well as many town quarters are evolving in tune with our rapidly evolving society. This modernization has been seized in Leuven to integrate quality contemporary architecture along with our century old set values. Old and new enhance one another and together create the municipal decor.

Leuven is located in the center of Belgium at 20 km from Brussels Airport.

HOW TO REACH LEUVEN? Leuven is easy to reach by car, bus and train. By train Leuven is only 20 minutes from Brussels, 40 minutes from Antwerp, 50 minutes from Liège and at 2 to 3 hours from cities like Düsseldorf, Paris, Amsterdam, Calais, ... Information on the schedules of all Belgian and international train services can be found on : www.nmbs.be The university city is also only a 15 minute train ride away from Brussels International Airport. As to car traffic, Leuven is at the junction of two major motorways: E40 and E314. Busses of the public transport company De Lijn will swiftly take you anywhere in the city. By plane: the airport train is located below the terminal (-1). Up to 2 trains an hour connect the airport to Leuven.
